Battlestar Galactica Webisodes 2 & 3

Posted by dominie in Films, News on December 17th, 2008

As discussed previously, Sci Fi is hosting a series of ten webisodes, titled Battlestar Galactica: Face of the Enemy, before its return with the final part of season four. The first webisode ended with the fleet jumping to safety while Gaeta’s transpo shuttle finds itself stranded with companies three crew members and two Boomers. The second webisode plays on the emotions of the crew lost in space freaking out about being stranded with only 20 hours of oxygen. There is also a quick scene that shows Gaeta’s boyfriend begging Tigh to send out a search and rescue mission for the lost raptor which hones in on the homosexual relationship Gaeta is involved in. I’m just still not quite sure why Sci Fi wanted to through this in yet so late in the game.

Spoiler alert. In the third webisode the lost crew seems to have calmed down and proceed to look into the scrubbers on the shuttle. Gaeta discovers one of the Boomers on the shuttle is the cylon he conversed with on New Caprica. Then, one of the Boomers get killed! The pliers she used had the insulated grips stripped off! Suspicions fly. Who could have tampered with the equipment?

You Don’t Want to Live in The Scary City

The Scary City is a new series of webisodes about a Los Angeles apartment building that is haunted and tells of a missing 10 year old, the daughter of an architect doing battle with the evil entities.

The story will kick off with five episodes on September 15 and last 1.5 to 3 minutes in length which you can find at Facebook, MySpace and YouTube in addition to mobisode versions.

The $5.2 million series comes from executive producer/writer Yumiko Aoyagi (LonelyGirl15) and she cannily crafted the premise so that tenants in the building can carry the story with them to other venues. Aoyagi told Variety she intends to roll out extensions of the story set in Korea, Israel, the U.K., France and Thailand.

Aoyagi also has plans the tale to be told as a series of Manga graphic novels plus a feature film version. “It’s like a full-fledged pre-release campaign, with each story in every country serving as a trailer for the movie,” Aoyagi told the trade.
