Terror Tidbits

Directors have been circling at the opportunity to bring Robert E. Howard’s infamous Conan character to the big screen again for quite some time now.  Yesterday Dread Central got word that Nu Image may attach Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour series) to the new project?!  The news hasn’t been confirmed yet, thank goodness, but we do know the studio is anticipating a 2010 release, 28 years after the original Conan the Barbarian!

B-D reports MGM has signed on a writer (TBA) for their direct-to-disc sequel of The Amityville Horror, which will play like more of a spinoff of Sci-Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunters.  Lets keep our fingers cross they will steer clear of any dollhouses, mirrors, and other what-not ridiculousness.

Additionally, Warner Bros. Pictures has slated Orphan, Jaume Collet-Serra’s (House of Wax) latest project for release on November 6, 2009.  Peter Sarsgaard, Vera Farmiga, Isabelle Fuhrman, Lorry Ayers, David Leonard, and Skye Peters star in this story about a young mother who adopts a child, Esther.  The result is anything other than a happily ever after ending.
