The LA TIMES reports that Lions Gate Entertainment has officially purchased TWILIGHT studio Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million.

The final film in Stephanie Meyer’s series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2, hits theaters next November. But according to LionsGate Chief Executive Officer, John Feltheimer, it might not be the end of the franchise. “I’m anticipating ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office.”

In talks of keeping the property alive, when asked specifically about bring TWILIGHT to the small screen, Feltheimer said, “I certainly hope so.”

If you or someone you care about is afflicted with Lycanthropy, it is important to know that this condition is not terminal and that you are not alone. Every day thousands of Americans diagnosed with Lycanthropy lead normal, healthy lives by choosing to live within the confines of their condition. Yes, your life will change. But that doesn’t mean that your life is over.

Firstly, if you suspect you are carrying Lycanthropy, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE FULL MOON TO FIND OUT. Doing so would be incredibly dangerous and your irrational behavior may result in the deaths or fatal injuries. The initial outbreak is much too powerful to control as your bloodlust and sex drive will skyrocket, so it is best to take precautions. There are several ways to tell if you might be infected. Ask yourself:

• Was I recently bitten by a wolf?
• Has my body hair gotten thicker, coarser, darker? Am I no longer bald?
• Do I smell better? (Your nose)
• Do I smell worse? (Your odor)
• Do I have increased physical stamina and strength? Do I often find excuses to take my shirt off?

Don't give me that "Topless Tuesdays" crap.

One sure-fire test is to walk into a pet store. If you are greeted by a barrage of inexplicably howling dogs and hissing cats, you are most likely a Werewolf. Or David Bowie. Now that you know you are Lycan-positive it is important to follow these steps to keep your condition under control:

#1: MAINTAIN A REGULAR SLEEP SCHEDULE, DIET AND EXERCISE.

Sleep, diet and exercise are always the forefront of any recovery, and it’s no different here. You should keep a regular sleep schedule waking at dawn and going to bed early in the evening, just after sunset. Avoid the night as much as possible, as the moonlight enhances your primal urges. And never get caught under the full moon. Keep track of the lunar cycle so you can safely lock yourself away during your ‘time of the month’. Diet and exercise will keep your extra animal energies on an even keel. By eating a nutritious, balanced diet and exercising regularly you won’t be craving to fulfill these urges during an outbreak. This will make you more likely to not break down your door, run amok or eat people.

#2. AVOID SILVER

This should be obvious but many people overlook it. Silver is fatal to the Lycan-positive. Being shot with a silver bullet or stabbed with a silver blade will kill you. Just being near the substance can cause illness or mild skin irritation. As such, make sure to throw out all of your silverware. You’ll be dining with plastic utensils from now on. If you’re concerned about the environment, you can purchase a wooden set. Those are only dangerous to Vampires. And to hell with those guys.

#3. INVEST IN AN ELECTRIC GROOMER

Those disposable CVS blades won’t cut it anymore. Literally. The reinforced hair follicles  will be too tough.  To continue shaving you’ll need to invest in an electric groomer to bypassg in-grown hairs and skin rashes, which are significantly more painful with a breakout of Werewolf hair. Really it’s best to avoid shaving to the skin and opt for trimming instead, giving yourself the permanent 5 o’clock shadow. And don’t wax. NEVER wax.

#4. GET A NICE PAIR OF STRETCH PANTS

Statistically even the most effective protection only works 99.9% of the time. You will not control every transformation and it is very likely that you will get out. Though your main concern will be to get rid of the remains and clean up all of the entrails before you’re caught, why worry about waking up naked in the middle of a bloodbath too? The most well-known Wolfmen almost always maintained their dignity by trusting their legs to a good pair of britches. Even celebrity spokesman and affected Lycanthrope Hugh Jackman manages to cover up with a designer wolf’s mane thong.

But for those of you with a bit more modesty, make sure to look for whatever brand the HULK wears. You know the ones with extra elastic in the waistband — comfort and security all in one pair of pants.

#5. BEING OPEN WITH YOUR PARTNER

One of the most difficult things about being diagnosed is being honest about your condition with your friends, family and loved ones. Confessing is a big step. Rejection, disgust or anger are very real reactions people will have to news of the affliction. However this is only because they are misinformed. Share with them the information you’ve learned here and make sure to explain that its okay to lead a healthy, full life with Lycanthropy. Be open about your own concern and try to get them to see it from your point of view. True you will likely lose some friends after this, but you can always eat them if they’re going to be mean about it.

It is especially important to tell those you are engaged in a sexual relationship with, as they are at high risk to become infected. In order to not spread the reach of Lycanthropy, you must take precautions to maintain safety in your continued sexual encounters: Keep your finger and toenails cut short to avoid scratching (this is good advice for anyone, really), make sure your partner has a trace amount of silver or animal tranquilizers on hand should you get too ferocious. You may also want to consider purchasing a muzzle to wear during romantic escapades.

Remember you are NOT a monster. You are a person…who turns into a werewolf every now and again. But that’s okay. You can live with Lycanthropy. You may find yourself shunned by society, but be aware that there are support groups online willing to talk and hear you out. Though it may be a tough life to adjust to, there’s no reason you can’t be happy. Just like living, there are plenty of ways you can find love with Lycanthropy. Dog lovers. Blind people. Furries.

Oscar-winning actor William Hurt is currently in talks to join the cast of THE HOST, the film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s first book after THE TWILIGHT SAGA.

Directed by Andrew Niccol, Hurt is purported to be circling the part of Jeb, an eccentric uncle to Saoirse Ronan’s Melanie Stryder, whose brain is hijacked by the soul of an alien being known as Wanderer. Jeb is one of the grizzled leaders of the human survivalists.

The plot of THE HOST is officially described as follows:

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining “wild” humans is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie’s thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with visions of the man Melanie loves—Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

Of course, this isn't the first time Hurt has been 'The Host'.

Well, no one heeded my call, and now it would appear that Twihards are about to pay the price.  The Epilepsy Foundation of America has now issued a warning about TWILIGHT:  BREAKING DAWN PART 1, as a portion of the film has been found to pose a possible danger to people with photosensitive epilepsy.  The scene in question concerns a series of light flashes during the film’s gruesome birthing scene.

A scene in the latest Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn: Part One, has reportedly caused seizures in at least two audience members. The scene contains flashing lights, which can sometimes trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.

If you have photosensitive seizures, please take this information into consideration when deciding whether to see this movie. Around 3 percent of the nearly 3 million Americans with epilepsy have photosensitive epilepsy.

In addtion, many people have chimed in across the internet about their similar experiences.  This comes in conjunction with persons reporting fainting and nausea due to the graphic nature of the same scene.

One wishes the film would also come with a warning discussing the inherent dangers in having a vampire bite a baby out of a pregnant female’s uterus to keep it safe.  DO NOT try such a thing at home, even if the vampire you know is an expert.

Just a couple weeks after it was announced that NBC had greenlit a pilot for a remake of THE MUNSTERS, Bryan Singer (X-MEN, SUPERMAN RETURNS) has signed on to direct said pilot and executive produce the series.  Bryan Fuller (PUSHING DAISIES) wrote the script, which takes an apparently darker look at how the titular family came to reside at 1313 Mockingbird Lane.  The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop.

Having been involved in a couple of superhero franchises, Singer brings a good amount of clout to the series, boding well for its chances of a pickup by the network.  The director previously executive produced and directed the pilot for HOUSE, which is expected to end its run in the spring.

Considering the popularity of vampiric romance in franchises such as TWILIGHT and TRUE BLOOD, I’m expecting a satiric take that features a Dracula-esque grandfather who clashes with his brooding teen vampire grandson when the boy brings home a non-Monster girlfriend.

Did you see BREAKING DAWN this weekend?  Because if the answer’s no, you’re apparently the only person on the planet.

TWILIGHT:  BREAKING DAWN PART 1, the fourth entry in the insanely lucrative franchise, grabbed the fifth biggest domestic debut of all time and the tenth biggest ever worldwide debut, grossing $139.5 million and $283.5 million, respectively.  To put that in perspective, Mount Everest is only 281 million dollar bills tall if you stacked them on top of each other.*

While the film couldn’t quite match NEW MOON’s $142.8 million domestically, it easily surpassed that iteration’s $275.3 million globally.  Apparently people can’t get enough vampire wedding fun and subsequent baby drama.

Fans will have to wait until November 16, 2012, for Part 2.  Until then, expect steady repeat business as fans flock to watch and rewatch the love scene to end all love scenes.  Seriously, Bella and Edward’s bed is obliterated.  Obliterated!

With SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNSTMAN (the trailer for which is incredible) already under her belt, Bella AKA Kristen Stewart next looks to be tackling a remake of Japanese manga classic AKIRA.  According to Twitch, Stewart has been offered the lead female role of Kei, the love interest to hero Kaneda, who is tentatively set to be played by Garret Hedlund (TRON:  LEGACY).

The news is just the latest casting announcement about the Jaume Collet-Sera film.  Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter are also rumored to play integral roles in the remake.  With the action moving from Japan to the fictional American city of New Manhattan and one of the TWILIGHT stars appearing as a key character, this remake is sure to be divisive to fanboys across the globe.

October 28th: Anne Rice, writer of the VAMPIRE CHRONICLES which includes the book that became 1994′s INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE, publicly denounces THE TWILIGHT SAGA writer Stephanie Meyer on her Facebook.

“Lestat and Louie feel sorry for vampires that sparkle in the sun.”
says Rice. Lestat and Louie were famously portrayed in the film adaptation by Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. “They would never hurt immortals who choose to spend eternity going to high school over and over again in a small town —- anymore than they would hurt the physically disabled or the mentally challenged. My vampires possess gravitas. They can afford to be merciful.”

Though this is not the first time Rice has criticized TWILIGHT and Meyer, the recent comment did spike a Facebook fight the likes of which rival any flame war even seen before on the internet. As of today, over 1,990 users had voiced their opinions.

M.W. Griffith adds to the fire with, “Wow. This should win Facebook Post of the year, if there were such a thing.”

“It’s called ENVY people. I don’t see millions of fans lining up to buy an Anne Rice novel. There is no devotion to her books. Stephanie Meyer can just laugh off her comments. I would. Live it up STEPH!” says Isabel Rodriguez.

TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN PART 1 comes out November 18th, 2011.

TWILIGHT actress Kristen Stewart spoke with Glamour UK about the shooting of the scene: “It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’ It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R [by the MPAA]. They re-cut it.”

The British Board of Film Classification followed up with this remark: This film was originally shown to the BBFC in an unfinished version. The BBFC advised the company that the film was likely to receive a ’15′ classification but that the requested ’12A’ certificate could be achieved by making changes to a sex scene between the Edward and Bella characters. In particular the BBFC suggested that more graphic sight of Edward thrusting while he lies on top of Bella, and while her legs are wrapped around his torso, be removed. When the finished version of the film was submitted, these changes had been made, with the scene having been reduced in length and with less focus on full body shots. As a result, the film was classified ’12A’.

It makes you wonder what those Blu-ray special features are going to entail, doesn’t it?
