If you haven’t tuned into the last three weeks of Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica: The Final Season, you don’t know what you’re missing and you best get your act together. Possibly the best television event to date, and if not its at least my absolute favorite, Battlestar Galactica has taken a turn for the dark side. Darker than the dark side. There’s no sugar coating it…MUTINY! Absolute mutiny and people are pissed off! And you don’t want to mess with Adama, and especially not his woman, the President of the freak’n Colonies. People are going down and sooner than later pleeease!! I’ll stop here. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who isn’t caught up. The new episode reveals more of the relationship with the remaining Sharon cylon and Gaeta back on New Caprica. The crew dispose of the dead Eight while the still living Sharon tells Gaeta she has a plan to get them home, but she’ll only tell when the rest of the stranded crew is asleep. Gaeta’s guy pal gets his wish; he and a pilot break from Galactica in search of Felix’s lost shuttle.

Spoiler alert. In the third webisode the lost crew seems to have calmed down and proceed to look into the scrubbers on the shuttle. Gaeta discovers one of the Boomers on the shuttle is the cylon he conversed with on New Caprica. Then, one of the Boomers get killed! The pliers she used had the insulated grips stripped off! Suspicions fly. Who could have tampered with the equipment?

This episode in particular reveals one of the bigger spoilers that have been talked about—that of Gaeta’s bisexual relationship with another member of the fleet. His partner has smuggled a stash of “morphia,” which are no doubt painkillers for Gaeta’s artificial leg and they quickly kiss.

The episode begins from a flashback, 3 days prior, and ends in a very beat up Gaeta. After Gaeta boards the shuttle with a small crew including a Sharon cylon, the fleet unexpectedly jumps to safety. Gaeta’s shuttle finds itself alone and the episode ends there. We know from the beginning it doesn’t go well from here. Tune in Monday for the next webisode to hit online.

The truth will be revealed January 16, 2009 when the all-new episodes of the final season of Battlestar Galactica airs on Sci Fi Channel. Until then, we’ll be back on December 12th with your next clue.

Who will be the final cylon?! Tell us your theories.

The identity of the final cylon is still very hush-hush. There is not much longer to wait, but you’re interested, SyFy Portal has compiled a list of The Final Five On The Final Cylon. Spoiler alert and keep in mind no speculations have been confirmed.

Sci-Fi Channel’s president David Howe tells Variety, “Battlestar Galactica was absolutely our flagship show. It put us on he map and helped transform the perception of the network,” noting that the cabler hopes to draw a broader audience to a series it sees as more compelling family drama than “space opera.”

He continues, “We want people to come to this who have never heard of Battlestar Galacica. I think, because (Galactica’s) backdrop was space and spaceships, there was a barrier to entry for some viewers. Caprica has none of that. It’s an intense family drama set on an Earthlike planet, in the near future [50 years prior to Galactica’s initial attack. Caprica will speak] to a lot of the ethical dilemmas that we as a human race are going to have to face very shortly.”

Caprica will premiere on Sci-Fi Channel as a 2-hour pilot and stars Esai Morales as Joseph Adama, William Adama’s father, Eric Stoltz and Paula Malcolmson as the wealthy capitalist parents of Zoe Graystone’s, and Polly Walker, the headmistress at Zoe Graystone’s school. From Endemol USA, best known as the force behind the hit series reality Fear Factor, Estate of Panic will span six episodes, one hour each.  The first episode will premiere Wednesday, November 12 at 10PM ET/PT.

In each episode, seven contestants are encouraged to collect stashes of hidden cash inside a mansion of which they will need to overcome three challenges in different rooms.  Two players are eliminated after each challenge—the last one out, and the one with the least amount of money collected. The very last man standing will undergo one final challenge in the Vault Room and take all the winnings.

Flu Bird Horror is about a group of juvenile delinquents that are at a reform camp which happens to get attacked by pterodactyl looking-like things. Did you know that The Avian flu can morph ordinary pigeons into dinosaurs? Me neither. Any whooty…these delinquents get picked off one by one in the forest as the local ranger (Lance Guest, Last Starfighter, Holloween 2) desperately looks for these kids. At least its original.

Like a fine crafted Matrushka Doll, Flu Bird Horror (ah-chooooo, Gazuntight!) is truly a horror within a horror within a horror. The first horror is that it was ever written. Well maybe it was never written…maybe there was never a script at all. The second horror is that they actually tried to pass Romanian farmers off as Americans. This might have worked except they gave these actors a speaking role…very bad move. The third horror was that Leigh Scott (Hillside Cannibals, Transmorphers), the writer/director, convinced the executive producer that this was all going to end up well…or at worst, the exec producer might get laid if he ponied up a few G’s.

Now that we got that out of the way, there were some positive notes. It was only a feature and not a mini series. No real dinosaurs were harmed during the filming of this movie. And lastly, the two young performers, Sara Butler (A Couple of White Chicks at the Hairdresser) and Jonathon Trent (Transformers 2, Downstream) were pretty good. Despite some less then flattering comments about the cast by would-be, wanna-be critics, this ESL (English as a second language) challenged script actually was translated well by these two actors. Kudos for taking lemons and…well…don’t take anymore lemons in the future. You two are better than that.
