Maxime Alexandre will make his directorial debut with a thriller, Holy Money. Alexandre is best known as a director of photography, including this week’s release of Mirrors. Alexandre co-wrote the new film with Philippa Goslett and M. Christine Vanden Eede and he has cast Aaron Stanford (The Hills Have Eyes) and Karl Roden (Blade II). A teaser website has already gone live.
Guitarist John 5 has recorded “a killer slab of raging fury” for Rob Zombie’s Tyrannosaurus Rex coming in August 2009. Sounds like a lot of noise to us. Meanwhile, we’re finally getting a sense of the plot as Blabbermouth reports that the film features a semi-professional wrestler pursued by a “biker gang from hell.”
Greg McLean told Moviehole that “I am working on a few screenplays right now, as I am keen as hell to make another movie as soon as possible, because the Rogue release has been such a long process. I’m ready to rock again - but want to make sure I’m going out there with a screenplay that’s as great as it can be.” One possibility he mentioned was Wolf Creek 2 although he noted, “You’ve got to top the first one - and seriously, how much horror can you handle? If I did make Wolf Creek 2 it would almost have to be unreleasable. Rated XXX. Banned all over the world. Never to be screened in public. That’s kind of intriguing.”

We found remember exploitation films such as Ilsa, She Wolf of the S.S., so when Rob Zombie honored that with his mock trailer for Werewolf Women of the S.S. during Grindhouse, we smiled.
Now, Zombie has produced a comic book based the trailer with art by Dave Hartman and the cover just went live. As for when it will be release and from which publisher, those details remain hidden for now.
“Werewolf Women of the SS is back!” Zombie wrote on his MySpace blog. “This time it’s back as a comic book series! The wacky exploits of Commandant Hess, Lt. Boorman, Von Strasser Eva and Gretchen Krupp, Fu Manchu and even Hitler will be coming you way. Everything you ever wanted to know about Project Pure Wolf but were afraid to ask!”

Writer Steve Niles issued a statement yesterday, addressing online concerns that Rob Zombie’s forthcoming Tyrannosaurus Rex was ripped off from a project the two collaborated on for Dark Horse Comics in 2004, The Nail.
“People seem to be under the impression that Rob is doing The Nail and cutting me out. This is not true. Not only is T-Rex a different story, but also Rob is 100% owner of The Nail and is welcome to cherry pick anything he wants. It’s his concept. I was just along for the ride. There are NO issues between Rob and I.”
At the same time, the first ones sheet, illustrated by Alex Horley, was released to promote the film as seen here. The film is due out August 28, 2009 from Dimension Films.

Sid Haig, one of the premier character actors in the genre, will reprise his Captain Spaulding role for director Rob Zombie’s The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.
“It’s not a very big scene at all; it takes place in a bar,” Haig revealed to Fangoria. “It’s crazy, it’s wacky, it’s a lot of fun. It was kind of like doing voice-overs for a [live-action] film, but it was cool, because the characters are so out there that we had a chance to ad-lib some stuff and carry on a little bit. I can’t wait to see the whole thing completed.”
