Film Entries

Famous Monsters of Filmland’s Film Festival is now accepting feature film submissions of 40 minutes or more in all stages of post-production and short film submissions and mobile phone submissions of less than 40 minutes in all stages.

Film must be of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, psychological thriller, or “just-plain-weird” genre.

All submissions must be accompanied by the official entry form application, either submitted online through famousmonsters.com or by using withoutabox.com.

If submitting through famousmonsters.com, please print the application form and complete all required fields.

Incomplete applications will be disqualified and fee forfeited.

Submissions must be submitted in digital format on a DVD, flash drive or hard drive in .wmv, .mov, .flv, or .mp4 formats. Do not submit film or tape.

Label all materials with the title of the film, filmmaker’s name, length of film, genre, digital format, withoutabox tracking ID (for WAB submissions), and telephone number.

Film features are 40 minutes or more in length; film shorts are less than 40 minutes.

Submissions that are not in English must be subtitled.

If accepted, a brief clip of the entry and/or the trailer of the film may be streamed on famousmonsters.com.

Films must be presentable for screening to participate in the Famous Monsters Convention and winners will need to submit a 1-3 minute trailer, press kit, stills, and artwork within 12 days of announced date.

Submitted entries will not be returned.

Deadlines

The Famous Monsters Film Festival is a quarterly rolling competition.

Entries submitted by May 1, 2010 qualify to be screened at the July 2010 Famous Monsters Convention.

Entries submitted after May 1, 2010 will roll into the 2011 FM Con.
