R.L. Stine’s recently revived Goosebumps line of tween chillers has been optioned by Columbia Pictures for features. H2O Motion Pictures has tapped Randall William Cook to make his directorial debut on The Gate – 20 Years Later. The sequel to the 1987 horror flick is said to be fast-tracked for production in the near future. Cook is a triple Oscar winner for his work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

We first mentioned Timecrimes, an English-language remake of Los Cronocrimenes some time back and now it appears that David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises) is the favorite to direct it. Timothy J. Sexton (Live from Baghdad) wrote the script about a man who travels back in time half an hour to prevent a serious crime.
