Shock Till You Drop has uncovered the TV spot for upcoming video game smash DIABLO III, coming out on PC May 15th. You can combat the bowels of hell as one of five characters (a barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk or demon hunter) and insure a date-less Friday night for a long time. At least you’ll have an excuse.

Newest “Walking Dead” Video Game Trailer Out

As discovered by Fearnet, Telltale Games has released the newest trailer for THE WALKING DEAD videogame. The animation and special effects do a good representation of Charlie Adlard and Robert Kirkman’s vision, but it’s fairly disappointing not to be able to play as Rick or Michonne. There does seem to be a Glenn sighting (and hopefully there’s a find the groceries mini games!), however. It looks like Telltale has crafted a fairly gripping story, but what will separate this from all of the other zombie video games? If they model the game after the comic and TV show, it’ll be the plot and characters, and while they’re a step behind starting anew, it could be an even more enriching experience because of it. Plus, I’m sure there will be easter eggs and unlockable characters, rewarding fans of the show (or at least one can hope). The trailer is below.

HALO has come to define the first person shooter-style game, and each new entry in the 343 Studios/Microsoft series is met with considerable fanfare. HALO 4, announced last year and set for release this December 31, has gamers hanging on every image and bit of footage shared. Bioware and EA International release MASS EFFECT 3 tomorrow, and have gone about promoting the highly anticipated video game in a most unusual way: with a fantastic live action trailer. If you have caught this running on television over the last week, you surely were captivated by what looked to be a fascinating film about an alien invasion initiating a battle for Earth. If so, surely you were equally shocked to see the video game rating at the end of the promo.

MASS EFFECT 3 will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC platforms. More on the game at its official site.

“DOCTOR WHO: THE ETERNITY CLOCK” Game Trailer

Supermassive Games and Playstation have released the trailer for the upcoming game DOCTOR WHO: THE ETERNITY CLOCK. The trailer, posted on PlayStation Blog, puts the Doctor up against a diverse array of familiar enemies. While there is no release date announced yet, the game will be coming to both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in March.

David Cronenberg Video Game Announced for Toronto Film Fest

The Toronto International Film Festival, with the help of the government of Ontario, is planning an interactive retrospective of the cinema of David Cronenberg in the form of a video game. MIND/BODY/CHANGE will be an “augmented reality game” where his various forms of entertainment are enhanced by an electronic sensory experience via computer. The TIFF proposal for the project describes it as, “stylized social media meets psychological thriller game play.” It is reported the game will be unveiled in phases, starting in September of this year.

Description of the project from the Government of Ontario website:
“The Toronto International Film Festival will create an online experience with a multi-platform augmented reality game, “The Worlds of David Cronenberg.” This web application will allow users to explore items in the archive and use them in an interactive, online experience. The application is staged in phases that progress into an augmented reality experience and will use a combination of social media technologies, locative services and 3D-photo modeling technology in stylized social-media meets psychological-thriller game play.”

Get ready for twelve months full of Cronenberg. He just wrapped A DANGEROUS METHOD and is post on COSMOPOLIS. The perfect subject for an interactive body and mind video game experience? Absolutely!
