It Is Official: “JAWS: THE RIDE” Is No More

On January 2, Universal Studios in Florida set sail on the final voyage of JAWS: THE RIDE. The attraction was an original feature dating back to when the theme park opened in 1990, famous for an interactive experience complete with a wet, shark attack grand finale. Most of the patrons on that final trip were fans who made their way to Florida to pay final tribute to what will go down as one of the most memorable theme park-movie tie-ins of all time.

Below you will find new pictures (courtesy the folks at The Shark Is Still Working, brought to your attention by Dread Central) of the attraction as it was being dismantled and removed. You will also find an amended theme park map sans JAWS, and a full length video of the ride experience.

I couldn’t ever really sink my teeth into this attraction at US. I always thought it was as hokey as they come. So no tears shed here for “BRUCE” He is finally getting his just deserts… I would have rather had more time touring the actual back-lot than have to see “Bruce” again. Thanks for posting this though.
