Columbia premiered their trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN during the Super Bowl, giving a first glimpse of the studio’s new, much darker, vision for the web slinger. Is that Christopher Nolan directing? No, it is actually relative newcomer Marc Webb helming Spidey’s big screen return.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The script is from James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The film hits theaters on July 3rd.

Synopsis (courtesy Columbia):
“THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.”

The Untold Story? Does that mean it has nothing to do with the comic?
“untold story”? really?? sorry not impressed….didn’t need a remake/reboot!
It would be interesting to see them do a Spidergirl flick. How many Spiderman flicks will they have to re-make, re-vamp, regurgitate, and resurrect before they start to get boring. Spidergirl…..that’s the ticket. The Untold, Undiscovered, Unrelenting proliferation of fabulous forlorn & fantazmagorical feats of franchising.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s about time they finally put the lizard in there…and a back story of Petes father and his work…ok interesting…so what’s next? The Vulture?…Marko? Seriously now…They need to think out of the box for a bit…And what the hell!!! What about another FF flick?!
This is just gonna feel, I dunno, WEIRD without J.K. Simmons in there. :\
