DARK KNIGHT RISES Prologue to be Attached to MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL

Tom Hardy as BaneRemember back in 2007, when Warner Bros. released the entire DARK KNIGHT opening sequence as a sort of trailer that played before the Imax version of I AM LEGEND?  Everyone in those theaters got all jazzed up because they got to watch basically a prologue of what would become the greatest superhero movie of all time.  Those who saw the Will Smith vampire flick on puny regular movie screens had to make due with a regular ‘ol trailer or else scurry online trying to find bootleg copies of the now-infamous Joker bank robbery.

Well, it looks like it’s happening again.  /Film has the scoop, with their sources telling them that a six minute prologue to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will be attached to Imax versions of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL.  This will make for both a great promo for RISES and an added incentive for people to see MI:GP on Imax screens.

No word yet on what the content is of said prologue, but it will likely be incredible and make the wait for next summer’s most anticipated release even more excruciating.

On a related note, what’s the proper way to write and/or say the title of the new MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE?  Does it have two colons?  Is the Ghost Protocol itself impossible, i.e. Impossible Ghost Protocol?  Too much punctuation for my taste.

But I digress.  THE DARK KNIGHT RISES melts faces July 20, 2012.
