According to Variety, the French production outfit Gaumont is launching a branch in Los Angeles – headed by Katie O’Connell and Richard Frankie – and will be making its foray into television with… an hour-long drama dedicated to the infamous HANNIBAL.
Headed by Bryan Fuller (HEROES, PUSHING DAISIES), the show will explore the cannibal’s early days, back in his prime when he was clashing with FBI agent Will Graham – a story that has been touched upon in the films MANHUNTER and RED DRAGON and in Thomas Harris’ novel RED DRAGON.
In my head I picture this series winding up to be something like DEXTER except, you know, if Dexter didn’t have his Code and ate people.
