Famous Monsters of Filmland Expands Circulation throughout US, Canada and UK
The Beloved Magazine Goes Bi-Monthly!
Los Angeles, CA, October 11, 2010 — Horror, sci-fi and fantasy genre film magazine, Famous Monsters of Filmland, today announced its expanded distribution and circulation into major bookstore chains and independent retailers throughout North America and select markets in the UK. Digital downloadable versions of the magazine are also in development to become readily available on mobile phones to increase accessibility and enjoyment before the new year. Separately, publisher Movieland Classics, LLC, announced that Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine will enter into a bi-monthly publication schedule to meet the significant increase in requests from captivated readers beginning with Issue 253.
After a very successful launch of the print magazine in July’s Famous Monsters Convention in Indianapolis, IN and Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA, Famous Monsters of Filmland has entered into agreements with major distributors in the US, Canada and UK. The expansion means that Famous Monsters will be available in comic book stores, specialty retailers and major bookstore chains including Barnes & Noble, Borders and Books A Million.
Coinciding with its direct sales expansion, the publication has increased its frequency to six times a year, up from four times, and will include direct to consumer access through mobile phones beginning in the winter. “Famous Monsters Issue 252 releases in just two weeks on October 26, 2010, and I believe readers will find it better than the last,” said Senior Manager Philip Kim. “252 has already been formatted for mobile downloads for sharing on the go and upcoming issues will seek out more and more participation from readers and really encourage them to showcase their creativity.”
