Electronic Arts finally released the teaser trailer for Dead Space 2, the sequel to 2008′s surprisingly innovative and terrifying hit Dead Space. In the original, gamers took control of Issac Clarke, an engineer who finds himself stranded aboard an interstellar mining ship battling a polymorphic virus alien infestation. Facing a plague that kills its victims and transforms their dead bodies into cannibalistic, drastically altered forms, Issac is left with no other option but to blow them to pieces with his cache of fully upgradable weapons.
Not much has been released in terms of the storyline just yet, but we can expect Issac Clarke will be making a return with a new arsenal of tools to slice and dismember the Necromorphs in addition to his signature Plasma Cutter. In a new environment with a slew of new characters, Dead Space 2 will definitely be a sequel to look out for — let’s just hope they can capture the same perfect balance of action and suspense.
