MTV will air a behind-the-scenes look at Avatar two days before the film’s release. But if you can’t wait that long, you can ask director James Cameron your own questions this Thursday, compliments of a live round-table webcast.
Joining Cameron for the discussion will be producer Jon Landau, as well as stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. The event will be a half hour long, starting at 3PM Eastern time, and will be simultaneously broadcast on the MTV website and the film’s Facebook fan page. Fans will be able to submit questions in real time on both websites to be answered by the cast and crew.
According to John Shea, executive VP of integrated marketing at MTV, the network began discussions with 20th Century Fox on the TV special and webcast tie-in over six months ago. The round-table will represent the network’s very first standalone streaming webcast – and what better subject for such a big first than one of the highest-budget movies ever made?
Sure, the trailers have pretty much given you the flick’s entire plot already – but what better opportunity for finding out some more details on characters, behind-the-scenes details and basically what to expect from this winter’s biggest movie? I know I’ll be there – come on, people, it’s James Cameron!
