Yeah, yeah, I know – this part’s gone through more hopeful blondes than Alex Rodriguez on a particularly busy weekend. But Deadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke has yet another bit of possible Felicia Hardy news. The actress her sources suggest is leading the pack for the part of the Spidey-obsessed cat burglar is none other than Anne Hathaway.
Sony insists that no final decision has been made, but it’s been said that the producers of Spiderman 4 have approached Hathaway for a lead role. Since Kirsten Dunst has already been confirmed to return as Mary Jane, it’s likely the Princess Diaries and Rachel Getting Married star will be donning Hardy’s black leather jumpsuit, if the rumors are true.
The Black Cat’s hair has always been stark 
white (hence the number of blondes who have been rumored to appear in the part so far). So far, I can’t think of a movie where we’ve seen Anne Hathaway in anything but her natural brown ‘do… not that I’m not certain she could pull it off. Still, fans have been vocal since the beginning that the best fit for the character would be Kristen Bell; frankly, it seems like such a natural fit that I’d be shocked if the studio hadn’t at least approached the young actress.
