Veteran Character Actor Joe Maross Dies

Maross, JoeJoe Maross was familiar face on television from the 1950s, guest-starring in hundreds of series.  He appeared in two episodes of Rod Serling’s The Twilight ZoneThird from the Sun and The Little People, and was featured in The Outer Limits episode The Invisible Enemy.

Maross was born in Barnsboro, Pennsylvania, on February 7, 1923.  He made his television debut in the early 1950s.  His many television credits also include episodes of Inner Sanctum, Men into Space, Thriller, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Time Tunnel, The Invaders, Mission: Impossible, The Magician, Kung Fu, The Invisible Man, The Six Million Dollar Man, Wonder Woman, and Highway to Heaven.

Maross died of cardiac arrest in a Glendale, California, hospital on November 7, 2009, at age 86.

    Joe Maross was a fine actor. I enjoyed his performances on the big screen and television very much. I was an avid movie buff in my younger years and could swear he was known at one time as “Joel” Maross but I can’t find anything to support my memory.
