Remember when Sean posted about Hollywood’s latest board-game-to-movie adaptations including, but not limited to Monopoly, Battleship and Ouija? Well he wasn’t kidding, as much as we may have hoped.
So yeah… Ouija the Movie… that’s happening. But who would be crazy enough to want to take on such a cinematic gold mine? There is only one answer. Michael Bay.
That’s right folks. Michael Bay, or at least his production company Platinum Dunes, will be producing this movie that seems like it could only be some sort of newer, hard edged Jumanji. That being said, let me go through the possibly good news. Platinum Dunes was responsible for such horror remakes as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir will also be producing, alongside Brad Fuller and Andrew Form and they have just signed on the writers of Lost and Tron Legacy, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. With these attachments the film does have some credibility, but the truth remains that the only facts we have to go on right now is that it will be a “supernatural action-adventure” involving a board game. Oh well, we’ll see.
