Go out and get it folks, the DVD of Monsters vs. Aliens has finally hit the shelves this week. The animated comedy from Dreamworks follows a group of the most fearsome Monsters as they save the planet from an insane Alien invasion (hence the incredibly creative name of the movie).
Susan Murphy, aka Ginormica (Reese Witherspoon), is super excited for her wedding day, as brides tend to be, but things don’t go quite according to plan when a meteor crashes into her and turns her into a giant. She is promptly whisked away to a secret government containment facility where she meets B.O.B. (Seth Rogan), Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie), The Missing Link (Will Arnett), and Insectosaurus (Conrad Vernon). When the evil Gallaxar, an insane alien voiced by Rainn Wilson, attacks the planet the President (Stephen Colbert) and General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland) order this misfit group of heroes to work together and save the world.
With such an amazing group of comedians/actors collaborating on this film as well as a great script and a stellar animation team, this movie is a delightful movie, if not silly and cheesy, that all will enjoy.
The DVD comes with commentaries, games, bonus cartoons and tons of other featurettes, while the Blu-ray comes with all this plus a trivia track. So if you like monsters and comedy be sure to hit up your nearest DVD outlet!
