Bloody Disgusting has uncovered the latest happenings over on ‘Elm Street.’ The site reports that Clancy Brown (The Burrowers, Starship Troopers) has been cast to play Allan in New Line Cinema’s remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Under the helm of commercial director Samuel Bayer, principle photography began shooting today in Chicago according to an update from the producer Platinum Dunes who also provided a first look at what we can expect below.
The remake (or if you prefer, reboot) centers on the return of Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns to terrorize children in their dreams. Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dikker, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz, and Katie Cassidy also star.
A Nightmare on Elm Street will get into your dreams April 16, 2010.
