I have two pieces of news for you. The first is of no surprise. A sequel was bound to happen, but so soon? Before a trailer has even hit, MTV News is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. is already in talks about a Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes sequel. “I feel like there’s going to be a Sherlock Holmes 2,” the actor told MTV News.
What is surprising however is that RDJ confirms that Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes will be rated PG-13. This means a very different Guy Ritchie vibe than we’ve been conditioned to expect. There will be no R-rated crime in this production; expect a more stylized “family friendly” experience on opening day this Christmas.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the new film will feature detective Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.) and his stalwart partner Watson (Law) as they engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.
