The Latino Review premiered a poster online of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes from the annual ShoWest in Vegas and its getting me more excited as I write this. See below for yourself! In a dynamic new portrayal of Conan Doyle’s famous characters, Sherlock Holmes sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.
The site reports the footage brings together a good mix of action and humor. As for the plot, the only sort of plot was the bad guy saying in a voiceover to Holmes that, “Tomorrow, at midday, the world as you know it, will end.” The next scene showed Downey as Holmes saying, “Well, there isn’t anytime to waste then, is there?”
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film also stars Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Kelly Reilly, and Eddie Marsan. Stayed tuned for updates. Sherlock Holmes hits theaters November 29, 2009.
