Universal Hires Writer for Dante's Inferno

Universal Pictures has hired Dan Harris (X-Men 2, Superman Returns, Urban Chaos Theory) to pen the screenplay for their live-action adaptation of Dante’s Inferno reports /Film via Variety. The studio won the bidding war in November of last year and you may be familiar with the EA’s video game trailer that debuted just a month ago for the game’s 2010 release.

Universal hasn’t revealed much in terms of the storyline, but we do know that it will be a modern interpretation of Dante Alighieri’s famous poem from the 1300s. /Film tells us, “The narrative poem describes Dante’s imaginary journey through the nine circles of hell where they see sinners being punished for their sins on Earth.” Click below to view the Zack Snyder-esque video game.
