The New Enterprise, EW Exclusive!

“If you’re going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change,” explains JJ Abrams. Feast your eyes below; the image is the first photo that Paramount has released of the new USS Enterprise, the NCC-1701 and Entertainment Weekly provided the goods.

The familiar look is the result of Abrams’ fusion of the TV-series Enterprise with the movie-franchise Enterprise. He continues to explain, “The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you’re going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?”

Don’t forget, the trailer for Abrams’ Star Trek reboot arrives this Friday attached to Quantum of Solace. Following it will be available online Monday, November 17th.
