Speaking of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, fans are rejoicing at news that the pair will be teaming up again in Burton’s adaptation of Disney’s classic Alice in Wonderland. The announcement was made last week before a boisterous crowd in Hollywood at the Walt Disney Showcase that sampled the studio’s productions to come in 2009 through 2011.  Depp will play the Mad Hatter (a perfectly befitting role that will allow Depp to go “full retarded”) in this rendition which Burton plans to utilize a combination of 3D animation and a similar performance capture technology like that used for 2007’s Beowulf.  As fans, there is much to look forward to now! Burton’s creations of which Depp has been involved in, in fact, mark the milestone films of Depp’s career. 1990 blockbuster, Edward Scissorhands? 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

And that’s not it for Johnny Depp.  The 45-year old actor will also reprise his role as the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, reports Variety, which has grossed more than 2.6 billion since its first installment released in 2003. Wait, there’s more. Depp will continue to collaborate with Jerry Bruckheimer, starring as Tonto, the Native American sidekick in Bruckheimer’s new version of the Lone Ranger.
