New Line Cinema has postponed Final Destination 4 3D back a week to open on August 21, 2009.
MGM has removed The Poughkeepsie Tapes from this year’s slate. But good news is we can still expect a release in 2009.
Also from MGM, Eli Roth’s Trailer Trash, a full length feature consisting of fake movie trailers that all tie together has been labeled N/A for release. No further details on this story yet.
On the flip side, Warner Bros. has pushed up the release date for Richard Kelly’s The Box from September 11, 2009 to March 20, 2009. The film is an adaptation based on a Twilight Zone episode Button, Button written by Richard Matheson.
“The Box stars Cameron Diaz as Norma Lewis and James Marsden as Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child who receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger, played by Frank Langella, delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. But, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world…someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.”
