A New Candyman is a-comin’

Tony Todd was memorable as the Candyman, turning him from just another character actor into a beloved genre performer with a laundry list of credits.

Will the same happen for someone else?  Sony is now looking at rebooting the franchise, based on Clive Barker’s 1992 short story “The Forbidden”.  It was filmed and released in 1992, followed by Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and Candyman: Day of the Dead.  By the time a new film comes out, a decade will have passed since the last installment which seems to be about the retime for Hollywood to consider a fresh start.

While they have the character, they still need a writer, director, and producer to make this a reality.
