The remake of Children of the Corn has announced casting in the Quad Cities area. An ad in the local paper says they are seeking people for the following roles:

[BURT] STAR NAMES ONLY; Caucasian; Mid to late 20’s; He’s a handsome, chiseled, athletic man with the smooth self-assurance and a dangerous stubborn streak, Burt is a former Green Beret who did hard service in Vietnam — the defining period of his life. Emotionally reserved, Burt is still in love with his wife Vicky, but their marriage is on the rocks. Hoping to rekindle the flame, Burt takes Vicky on a driving tour, but their second honeymoon segues into horror when the two hit a child on the deserted highway — only to learn that the boy’s throat has been cut. Burt’s subsequent investigation into the crime, which takes them into a seemingly deserted farm community, reveals a terrifying secret among the surrounding fields of tall corn — feral, religiously fanatical children bent on sacrifice. When Vicky is snatched by their youthful tormentors, Burt calls upon his jungle training to survive — but the odds, against the teeming children of the corn, are fatally uneven…LEAD (3) ROLE WORKS FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 FIVE DAY WORK WEEKS IN IOWA

[VICKY] STAR NAMES ONLY; Caucasian; Mid to late 20’s; Burt’s wife, she’s an independent, strong-willed beauty who still exudes a magnetic appeal for her husband. Vicky is full of resentment against Burt, perhaps a legacy from her poisonously fundamentalist childhood as the daughter of a fanatical preacher. Horrified when Burt hits a child on the deserted highway, Vicky just wants to proceed to the nearest town. She’s keenly conscious of the creeping evil that surrounds them, but Burt’s stubborn insistence on investigating the town takes a terrifying turn…LEAD (5) ROLE WORKS FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 FIVE DAY WORK WEEKS IN IOWA
