Final Destination 4 onesheetDirector David Ellis (Final Destination 2) returns for the fourth installment of the Final Destination franchise scheduled for release August 14, 2009.  The production team has been working with the PACE camera, introducing a new advance hi-definition Fusion 3D technology never before used that “will serve as a blueprint for the rest of the entire film industry for years to come,” proclaimed producer Craig Perry in an interview with Bloody-Disgusting.  He is confident that “Final Destination 4 will mercilessly bitch slap the 3D My Bloody Valentine remake into submission” and not to mention “own any other 3D horror film that tries to oppose [them].”

The goal of the movie makers this time around was to literally make the audience jump out of their seats and feel like part of the supernatural thrill ride.  Many long explanations have been cut from FD4 in contrast to past installments, creating a lighter tone in the gruesome surprise killings.  Rest assured however, they are no less enjoyable.

FD4 opens in an auto racetrack where fans will be served with an explosion “10 times as big as the bloody FD2 pileup.”  Nick, played by Bobby Campo (Greek), has a premonition of a deadly car crash that will ultimately kill dozens in a packed bleacher.  He manages to save several members, but Death did not intend for them to survive.  Each one becomes haunted by Death itself and finds himself in a thrilling combat to cheat Death.  Other members in the cast include Krista Allen (What About Brian?), Nick Zano (What I Like About You),  Richard T. Jones (Collateral), Shantel VanSanten (Spellbound), and Haley Webb (Big Game).

The Final Destination franchise has grossed more than $150 million worldwide and they are back to set a new standard for movies to come.  FD4 is budgeted at $43 million in 3D.  Currently there are only four prototype cameras in the world shooting using Fusion 3D.  The 3D aspect will really heighten audience experiences and really bring them to acknowledge the reality of the situation from the perspective of the movie characters.  The technology will send cars flying past you and debris falling on you.
