Platinum Dunes has opened the official website to their remake of Friday the 13th. It’s got little new to offer but bookmark it and see what develops.
The award winning Swedish film Let the Right One In has been scheduled by Magnolia Pictures/Magnet Releasing for a limited run in October before a DVD release. The same outfit will then release Timecrimes in the same manner this December. Both are part of a series Magnet is calling Six Shooter Film Series that also encompasses Eden Log, Special, Big Man Japan and Donkey Punch.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (Saw IV-V) have been signed to rewrite Piranha 3-D for director Alex Aja. The film retains its July 24, 2009 release date with principal photography set to begin before year end.
We haven’t talked about Lars von Trier’s Antichrist since it was first announced some months back. Word is that he has finally found the financing necessary and will shortly begin shooting the $11 million project in Germany. Written by von Trier and Anders Thomas Jensen, von Trier’s first English-language film is about a couple who move to an isolated cabin after the death of their son, only to find sinister forces at play.
