Assorted Terrifying DVD News

We have a slew of DVD news today starting with Lionsgate and their genre video releases due out on September 16:

Bloody MarySchools are the war zones and the automatic weapons are the teachers in Class of 1999, featuring all new packaging.  In the future, youth gang violence is so high that the areas around some schools have become “free fire zones,” and not even the police will venture there.  When Kennedy High School principal Miles Langford (Malcolm McDowell, A Clockwork Orange) decides to take his school back from the gangs, robotics specialist Dr. Robert Forrest (Stacy Keach, American History X) provides “tactical education units,” human-like androids that have been programmed to teach and are supplied with weapons to deal with discipline problems.

Ryan has been plagued with nightmares ever since his sister Amy went missing eight years earlier after playing the game “Bloody Mary.”  Now, a senior in college, he begins to reach a mental breaking point from the years of stress and guilt over his sister’s disappearance.  Ryan’s girlfriend, frustrated herself at his emotional distance and self pity, calls Father O’Neal for guidance.  Father O’Neal, both a priest and an archaeologist, decides to help Ryan end his tormenting grief by using his detective skills to figure out what exactly happened to Amy.  Together, they uncover the truth about The Legend of Bloody Mary.

Dario Argento’s Mother of Tears will see a September 23 DVD release after a brief theatrical release a month ago.

Halloween Zombie one sheetOn October 21, Dimension Extreme unleashes a three-disc collector’s edition of Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween. Among the special features, according to Fangoria, is a four and a half hour documentary on the making of the film.

Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds
will also be out the same day.
