It appears that John Hurt (Alien) will appear in the new Indiana Jones thriller as Abner Ravenwood, father to Marion (Karen Allen). While that’s cool, even cooler is that Ian McDiarmid (Star Wars 1-3) will reprise his Young Indiana Jones role of Professor Levi, tying the films and the television series closer together.
And while we’re on the fantastic, we note the signing of Thomas Sangster (Doctor Who) to play the title role of the Tintin trilogy being masterminded by Steve Spielberg and Peter Jackson. The series will be using performance capture technology and shooting on the first film begins this fall with Spielberg handling the first film and Jackson the second. Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) is already on board as Captain Haddock.
